So I'm the proud new owner of a Cricut Explore Air 2. I've surely stepped up my game now on Diy projects. Loving this Easter Diy I created. I wanted to go outside of the box and find inexpensive materials that I could use in my machine. They really get you on supplies. The vinyl alone can hurt your pocket. Strolling through Dollar🌳 I happened upon possible items that could possibly work in the Cricut. One of them was a plastic placemat. I found a nice bright blue patterned one. I was very excited to put it in the machine and see if it would work. I chose a Easter bunny image in the Design Space and excitingly loaded it in the machine. I set the Cricut to the Vinyl+ setting. Unfortunately it did not cut through the placemat. I didn't give up, my next option was setting it to Custom. Looking through the choices I found one that I thought would work. I picked the "Plastic" setting. Pressed go and crossed fingers that it would be successful. To my wonderful suprise it worked. I was ecstatic. A super budget friendly item from Dollar Tree worked. Once I had my bunny in my hand I knew how I was going to incorporate him in my project. Got myself some nice new 5x7 frames from Micheals. Sweet deal, buy 1 get 2 free. Total cost, $9.56 for three frames. I spent a little bit of time trying to find the perfect background. Started off with scrapbook paper and just wasn't feeling it. Went digging in my Dollar Tree bag of items I recently bought and pulled out a roll of Dollar Tree vinyl top liner. I bought it as material to cut in my Cricut but ended up using it as the background to the frame. It had floral print on one side which didn't match with my project. I flipped the liner over to the white side and fell in love. I really liked the texture of the liner. Made for a unique piece for the frame. Once the liner was put inside frame I then glued the bunny to the front of the glass with Elmer's glue.Gave the bunny a eye by using a Dollar tree pearl sticker. Plopped a paper flower from Micheals on his tail. Really pleased with this project and absolutely love my new toy, the Cricut❤
