Cute Tier Tray Decor Using the Dollar Tree 2022 Calendars

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

Like last year the Dollar Tree Calendars are a big hit. I was able to score two out of the three I wanted. Every store I visit they are wiped out. Really liking the themes this year. The ideas are limitless. For this project instead of using the calendar pages I used the small thumbnail images on the back of the calendar. I picked up a few wood cubes from Dollar Tree that I knew would work perfectly with the smaller calendar images. I created two styles, a Fall theme and a Farmhouse theme. To start off I stained both my wood cubes in a Provincial finish from Minwax. For the Farmhouse version I kept it as is while the Fall one was distressed with a light blue chalk paint from FolkArt. To distress the Fall version I brushed the blue chalk paint overtop the stained finish. When the paint was dry it was lightly sanded to give it a worn rustic look. Once both cubes were dry I then took the cut images and Mod Podged them to to the wood cubes. After the paper was dry on the wood I brushed a coat of Mod Podge on top to seal them. My last step was dolling them up with some ribbon. I really love the black and white check bow on the Farmhouse style. The wreath looks very realistic although it's paper. These little guys are great accents for decorating your tier tray. They also would look nice paired with other decor on a mantle, shelf or centerpiece. Can't wait to add them to my tier tray.
