So I was driving myself nuts trying to find a home for the Rae Dunn inspired eggs that I posted on my previous blog. I was bored with just putting them in a bowl. This was definitely a suprise Diy. Sometimes suprises are the best. I have quite a few Dollar Tree Bunny signs that I bought mainly for the carrots that dangle off of it. The bunny head on the sign really didn't interest me. I pulled it out thinking possibly I could use it for something. My plan was to cover it in scrapbook paper. Went through all my paper till I found the perfect piece. The bunny head was then traced and cut. I lightly spread Elmer's glue all over the head and then attached my paper. I reattached the original burlap bow to the bunny head. The bow matched perfectly with everything. My Rae Dunn inspired eggs were already in the original carton they came in from Walmart. Since I only made six eggs I Icarefully cut the carton in half. Using green moss from Wamart I added it around the carton to make the eggs pop more. My next step was figuring out how the bunny head would be incorporated in th diy. I rested the bunny head to the egg carton and was pleasantly suprised how well they worked together. My next challenge was attaching them together. I used a combination of Elmer's glue and staples at the bottom. The project was a little on the flimsy side so I needed some type support to keep it stable. In my craft drawer I had saved a wood base from a Dollar Tree wood craft. I wanted the wood base to match the bunny head so I painted it in a light green from Folk Art. The wood base was glued to the bottom of egg carton. Once dry everything stayed intact. This was definitely a spontaneous project that wasn't meant to be. Just happy it emerged.
