Super cute and easy diy using a combination of Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby items. Like I said in my previous post the ideas never end with the Dollar Tree wood galvanized frames. They are fairly small measuring in about 6 1/2" in height and 4" in width. This year Dollar Tree brought out a new style of Color your Own tree ornaments. I made sure to snag a few packages. Definitely like this style tree over last year's. I also like the drilled out holes. There are so many ideas you can come up with these trees. After looking through all my craft options I decided to cover each hole in red, white and green holiday confetti . I recently picked up the confetti from Hobby Lobby. All their Christmas items are half off so it wasn't too bad of a deal. My plan was removing the original galvanized metal piece out of the frame and substituting it for a scrapbook paper background. I tested different styles of paper till I found the perfect print for my project. The paper was cut to fit frame. It was glued directly to the frame backing with Elmer's glue. Once the frame was in place then I attached the wood tree to the background paper with Elmer's also. Patience is key dealing with the confetti. This step took the most time. Alternating between red, white and green I dotted a little glue to each confetti and then covered each hole on the tree ornament. The last step was dolling the frame up with a small matching bow. The bow was hot glued to the top of the frame. I'm real pleased how this turned out. I really love how all the colors coordinate together. This would be a nice accent to display on a shelf, mantle or even end table.
