Having fun this year with vintage truck diys. They have been very popular in the Farmhouse decor for several years but are really blowing up this year. I picked up a unfinished wood truck from Dollar Tree in their craft section and decided to do some magic on it. Like I've mentioned in my previous post I've been doing the blue and orange Fall colors for a good five years. I have a unique sofa set that is in a bluish green so using traditional colors sometimes clashes. I'm planning on displaying this on my seasonal wall mantle so I decided that I wanted the truck in the popular light blue/teal color. I did the wheels in black and the side rails on the back of truck in brown. Originally I was going to cut words on my Cricut to add to the truck but then I remembered those thumbnail images on the new 2022 Dollar Tree calendars. I was hoping one would work and I was just in luck. The image originally had pumpkins and the saying "Farm Fresh Pumpkins". The thumbnail unfortunately was too large for the truck so I cut the word saying out instead. I used Elmer's glue to attach it to the truck door. I then sealed it with Mod Podge. To decorate the back of truck I added orange mini mums and white mini pumpkins that I had leftover from last year from Dollar Tree. When my boyfriend came home from work I was excited to show him my finished project. He then suggested that the truck would look real nice placed on top of some old barn walnut wood.
He cut me a nice piece and it definitely gave the project more character.
