I can't say that wreaths are my favorite Diy to do. Once in a while I will create one. I normally get stuck making one for a co-worker or friend. I guess they assume since I make so many crafts that wreaths are my thing too. So this project was not my initial plans. My boyfriend collected quite a few pinecones for me at the Eastern Shore. My first project I created with them was pine cone christmas trees in terra cotta pots. I was hoping to use the remainder for some sort of center piece.Well things didn't go as planned. After getting ideas on internet for pine cone projects I decided to give the pinecone wreath a shot. I had previously bleached the cones for several days giving them a lighter look. After reading up on the pinecone wreath I decided the best way to attach them to the metal ring form would be with floral wire. I wrapped each pinecone in the center with the floral wire. Next they were tightly wrapped around the inner metal rims of the wreath. I purchased the metal wreath form from Dollar Tree. I also picked up the accents for the wreath there too, silver bells, clear plastic ball ornaments and a holiday floral pick( Silver Queen Anne's Lace) The bells and ball ornaments were painted in two colors, Plaster white chalk paint by Waverly and Serenity blue by Rust-Oleum. The ball ornaments were also wired to wreath. I hot glued the bells and floral accents. All and All I'm quite pleased how this turned out.
