Absolutely love how this turned out. Sunday we went thrift shopping. I came across this small wreath. Can you believe I only paid 25 cents for it. I knew this could come to good use. My boyfriend made a wood project this weekend with reclaimed vintage wood. He had some leftover pieces that he saved for me. So the mind started clicking and I started putting three of the wood pieces together. To my suprise it formed a nice board sign worthy of a project. The wreath fit perfectly too. So my first step was giving the wood a distressed look. Painted all three pieces with Waverly white chalk paint. As soon as it was dry I distressed it with sandpaper. The wreath was the next to get a makeover. Removed all the original accents and lightly brushed it with white chalk paint to give it a flocked effect. Now it was time to give the wreath some accents. I decided to use the Dollar Tree metal word "Believe" as my first accent. I sprayed it in white linen from Rust-Oleum. My second accent was mini Dollar tree bells that were sprayed in red by Rust-Oleum. When they both were completely dry I hot glued them to wreath. So back to the wood pieces. Time to attach all three. I could have waited till my boyfriend came home from work and he could have easily put it together for me but I don't have any patience. So crazy me used wood glue, hot glue and I stapled it with a staple gun. I got that sucker to stay together. My boyfriend will definitely be laughing at my method and say what he always says "I could have done that for you". My response, "no time for waiting". So the board sign is complete. Final step was stapling the wreath to the wood. Amazing that recycled pieces made a piece that looks so store bought. Pretty proud of this project
