A facelift is definitely what these guys needed. I picked up two of these monogram pumpkins from Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and finally had time to do something with them. My plan was to incorporate the little Fall themed thumbnails from the 2021 Dollar Tree calendars to the pumpkin decor. I decided to add another color to one of the pumpkins and left the second one as is. For the first pumpkin I painted the center in a light blue shade called Patina from FolkArt. Once it was dry I used some sandpaper to distress it. I like the effect of the orange highlights popping out of the blue. The pumpkin was ready for it's next step which was adding the cute Fall thumbnail to the pumpkin. To give the thumbnail more character I cut a piece of burlap into a square and affixed the image on the top of it with Elmer's glue. I decided against mod podging the paper but it's your preference. The finished piece was then glued with Elmer's to the pumpkin decor. The final step was dolling the top of the pumpkin up with a bow. I ended up using the original bow it came with. I gave it a nice chopping with scissors. A additional orange gingham bow was attached over the first bow with hot glue. Here is the finished product. Loved how it turned out.

For second pumpkin I pretty much did the same concept minus painting it. The Fall thumbnail image was taken from another Dollar Tree 2021 calendar that I finally scored today. I got a little creative and used a different texture for the thumbnail to be added to. In my craft drawer was a coco liner I got from Dollar Tree a few Summers ago. I cut it into a square and glued the paper to it. I'll have to admit it looks pretty cool. For this bow I used some scrap ribbon and green rafia to create it. I removed the original bow and hot glued the new one. A little styrofoam berry topped it off Sooooo here it is!!!!
