Can't lie, absolutely in love with this. A suprise DIY for sure. I originally was trying to cover a Dollar tree reindeer ornament in moss but that was a fail. With the ornament being so detailed it just wasn't working so I gave up on that .The key is the simpler the shape the easier to cover in moss. Lesson learned. So after my fail project with the reindeer I needed to find something else that would work. Digging through my craft drawer I came upon a package of Dollar Tree Xmas tree shape ornaments. They come in a 5pk and are labeled as "Decorate your own Ornament". So pulled the hot glue gun out and started covering the tree in a bright green moss I purchased at Walmart. It was quite obvious the moss was dyed. Surely not your natural green moss but I knew it would be perfect for this project. After the tree was covered it was time to find the perfect frame to pair it with. Back in the craft drawer digging around till I pulled out the popular galvanized frames from Dollar tree. Plopped the tree on the frame and wow found myself a winner. So I really wanted the tree to pop in frame and was worried the galvanized background would distract it so I decided to lighty paint the metal in two coats of Waverly white chalk paint. When it was not fully dry I rubbed it with a paper towel to give it a distressed look. I also lightly brushed all sides of frame with paint and rubbed off with paper towel too. Now time to attach moss tree to frame. It was hot glued to the galvanized background. Last step adding the accents to the tree. The Dollar Tree wood stems were used for the trunk of the tree. Pearl adhesives from Walmart were hot glued to tree and finally a Diy star sticker from Dollar tree topped the tree. So there you have it another project in the books!!! Hope you like😀
