The theme is Mini

So over the weekend we were working on our Easter themed mini mugs and finally today was the big photo shoot. I wanted to create some easy Diy's that could be incorporated in our photos. I spend as much time taking photos of my products as I do making my products, crazy!!! I wanted to place the mugs on a stand but didn't want something real high. In the tier tray world mini risers have been the popular must have item. They work real well giving height to your items on a tier tray They can also be displayed alone. After researching ideas on the net and being inspired by others I decided I could make mysef one. I was lucky that I already had the items to make it in my house. It's a fairly easy Diy once you have all the materials rounded up. I seem to always suprise myself when I go through my mounds of craft supplies. There is always that one item I totally forgot I had. Digging through one of my bins I came upon a unfinished round wood hanging decor I got in the craft section at Dollar Tree. It was the perfect size and thickness to serve as a base. To give your risers a little more height the popular item to use for the feet are large wood beads. It's always good to have a nice supply of wood beads in your craft supply. The ideas are limitless with them. Now that I have all the materials to create my riser the next step was painting the round wood piece and large beads. Before painting I suggest filling the hole in the Dollar Tree wood hanging decor with wood filler. Leaving the hole will definitely be a eye sore. I wanted my pastel mugs to stand out so I painted the riser in sheepskin chalk paint from FolkArt. The Dollar Tree round wood piece and beads were given two coats of paint. Once fully dry I used Elmer's glue to adhere the four large beads to bottom of round wood piece. I love Elmer's glue for my projects but wood glue will work just as fine. It's very important to let your riser dry for at least a hour for the glue to set. I'm so happy I created this. It's the perfect stand and prop for my Etsy products.

So if you take a peep at this last picture the background is a mini bunny banner. This is the other diy I created for my photo shoot. I'm totally in love with this mini banner that could also hang on a tier tray. Today at Dollar Tree I picked up a couple packs of these cute bunny peep clothespins for a future diy not knowing they would be used so soon. The same bin I found the materials on my first diy I pulled out a package of mini pendants I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby. My plan was to create a cute banner that would hang in the background for my mini mug photo shot. The felt peep bunnies on the Dollar Tree clothespins I knew would be perfect on the triangle pendants. They were very easy to detach from the clothespins. I then hot glued them to the pendants. I used a teal paper rope from Micheals to attach the items to banner. The simple pattern I used for the banner was a combination of small wood beads and the bunny pendants. I kept the beads natural. To attach each pendant on string I used hot glue. I was super excited once this project was complete. Couldn't wait to display in my photo.

and of course I have to share the photo shoot pic which I repeated a thousand times in this blog. Here's the link if you are interested in purchasing our mini mugs and other one of kind Easter decor.
