Valentine Tier Tray Accents on A Budget

Why buy store bought Valentine decor accents for your Tier Tray when you can make your own. My Etsy Shop has been pretty busy so I wasn't sure if I could squeeze a Valentine tier tray in. I actually had some time to at least get it started. I like to create most of my accents for my tray instead of just throwing a bunch of store bought items on it. Definitely makes your tray more one of kind. All the supplies mainly came from Dollar Tree, Micheals, Hobby Lobby and Walmart. So let's begin!!!!

Valentine Mini Wood Sign

I got the jagged edge wood signs from Micheals. They are the perfect size to display on a tier tray. The wood sign was painted in a white acrylic paint from FolkArt. Once dry the next steps were super easy. Using red and pink diy heart stickers from Dollar Tree I glued them on the wood sign. I used Elmer's glue but hot glue will work also. I then took some typewriter style letter stickers from Walmart and added them to each heart to spell out the word "kiss". The letter stickers were hot glued to the hearts. Super cute and quick diy.

Valentine Mini Frame

Another cute accent to display on a tray. I love the mini 3x3 metal frames from Dollar Tree. I've used them in several Diy's. To start off I sprayed the frame in linen white chalk paint from Rust-Oleum. Make sure to give the frame a few hours to dry before starting the next steps. While the frame was drying I cut out Valentine themed scrapbook paper to fit frame. This was used as the background. When the frame was ready I added the paper to frame and then completed the last easy steps. I decided to layer three styles of hearts together and then added them to center of the frame. A little hot glue is all you need to attach the completed heart to the scrapbook paper background. To finish off the frame I added a cute gingham bow. To give the bow a little more detail I glued a sequin to the center of it. These adorable mini frames work real well on a tier tray and can be used for each holiday. The ideas are limitless on decorating them.

Conversation Hearts

I scored these wood hearts from Dollar Tree. These work nice on my bottom tray. These were just too easy to do. Pretty much just painted them and added vinyl letters from my Cricut. If you don't own a Cricut, sticker letters could be substituted. I kept my pretty simple but other embellishments could definitely added.

Valentine Wood Tag

To create this accent I used a unfinished wood tag I picked up at Walmart in their craft section. I painted it in white and pink acrylic paints. Once dry I added a pink diy wood sticker to center of tag. Using my Cricut I cut out vinyl word to spell "xoxo". To finish the tag off I fed Dollar Tree jute twine to the hole and tied it. Again another quick and easy diy. Make it your own by using different colors or embellishments.

Mini Grapevine Heart

Can't really call this a Diy but sure makes a nice accent for your tier tray. Found these adorable heart grapevines at Dollar Tree. Pretty much just plopped a gingham bow on it with hot glue. I like to get

a little detailed with my accents so I added a sequin to center of the bow. I could also see using these grapevine hearts to create a garland for my mantle.
